Our Currency: The Euro

As a member of the European Union, Austria is also part of the Economic and Monetary Union – which introduced the EURO as the common currency.

ATM's

ATM's are widely used in Austria and are called "Bankomat". You will find outdoor venues at most branches of Austrian banks.

Credit cards

Credit cards, although accepted in hotels, major restaurants and stores, are less used for purchases in small shops, cafes, or grocery stores. We recommend to check with the venue before.
